What a week or should I say two weeks. I guess I should bring this thing up to date before I do anything else. Today is Saturday Feb 14th, 2004. Valentines Day.
Lets See the Next entry should have been for Feb 6th, so lets go back and pick up there
That was a Friday and I read Hurst Water. Lots of shopping centers and three Donut Shops, which means I have to really hustle in the Morning to get to all of them before Noon. The thing that really sticks out in my memory about that day was that the Handheld computer I punch the meter readings into crashed in my last shopping center. When I got back to the office we discovered the entire days work was lost. What a disaster.
Ate Lunch at Pizza Inn in Mesquite. I dont go to Dallas Resturants because of Mayor Laura Miller's Smoking ban. I refuse to spend one red cent inside the city of Dallas as long as her Nanny attitude continues to run the city.
Ok thats about it for Friday the 6th.
Saturday the 7th
Didn't do a dang thing, sat around the house all day playing computer games and watching TV.
Sunday the 8th
We all went over to my Mother's house to celebrate her 65th birthday (which is on the 12th). Darlene (my sweet blonde) and Ashley (My youngest blondette) baked her a German Chocalate cake and we picked up a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken for Dinner.
Overall a nice day.
Monday the 9th
Day one without a handheld. I had to go back and reread all of Friday's work plus do Mondays Schedule. To put it mildly it was a busy day. Skipped Lunch because I just didnt have the time. Monday night was the Tri-Counties Genealogy Society meeting (normally on a Tuesday but we moved it to accomidate the speaker). We had Larry Peacock come in and talk about the Lee-Peacock fued that tore apart this corner of Texas right after the Civil war. I purchased his book but so far have not had time to read it. He gave a very enlightning talk complete with a short video presentation. We had 16 people in attendance, a very good meeting. As always on Tri-Counties night we had dinner at Dairy Queen.
Tuesday the 10th
460 Day, One of the hardest days of my month. 1730 Electric meters to read and this month because of the Handheld crash, I had to read it on paper. What a total Pain in the Clinton. What normally takes me 4 and a half hours of steady work took over six hours. By the end of the day I was exhausted and in a very bad mood. No Lunch, no time.
We took my daughter out to eat for her 17th Birthday (Which actually the 18th of Feb but this was the only free night we had before then). Took her to Chili's in Sulpher Springs. We gave her two plaques from the "Who's Who of American High School Students" group that we had ordered. Considering how the week was going I should have known one of the plaques would be messed up. The Replacement should be here in about three weeks.
Wendsday the 11th
Hunting Ridge schedule, and thankfully I got to read it in a handheld. This is one of my favorite days of the month because its not a particulary bad day only 531 meters most of which are in one apartment complex. The rest are spread out between 5 shopping centers. The hightlight of the schedule is Lunch at Sonny Bryan's BBQ Pit over in Southlake (Texas). I flat out love that BBQ Smoked Sausage with the Jalapenos. Today for the first time this week I had time to do a little reading (I Normally read during my lunches). Finished another one of the Bolitho books.
Thursday the 12th
Fair Oaks Schedule. That means a trip to Ft Worth and a Wingstop. Wingstop is a local resturant chain that sells "Buffalo Wings". The only thing that makes them worth mentioning is the fact that they dont open till 4 PM in the afternoon. That means on any day with a Wing Stop I dont get home till very late. Ate at Taco Bell for lunch, was feeling kinda broke so I didnt want a big lunch.
Darlene went over and picked up my mother and took her down to see LV for her Birthday. LV is Darlene's Dad and my mother and him are pretty good friends. Darlene made them home made enchilada's for dinner. LV had cooked Beans and Corn bread for Lunch. Man I wish I could have been there, those are two of my favorite meals. The kids and I had BLT's for supper. Ashley cooked after Crystal (My oldest blondette) got home from Softball practice. She is on her High School Varisty Softball team.
Jenna QUIT on survivor to go home to see her Mother. I guess she made the right choice since her Mother died of cancer 8 days after she got home. The only thing I cant understand is why she went in the first place.
Friday the 13th
Bachman Lake Schedule, very easy day. Darlene came up for lunch and we went out to Steak and Ale (Valentines day lunch since she had to work the 14th). As hard as it may be to believe it started snowing while we were in the resturant. Not hard and not sticking but it was a bit of a shock.
The two of us went over to my Dad's house for a few mintues after we ate. He really enjoys getting visitors.
Supper was home made enchilada's ---- dang they were good. The rest of the night (After the George Lopez show) we watched movies.
Saturday the 14th
Surprize surprize, I woke up this morning and looked out the window. there is snow everywhere. A good three to four inches of snow covering the yard, the roads and my truck. It is still snowing. Absolutely unbeilvable.
