Giving Thanks

As you sit down to eat your Turkey and goodies. In spite of the tensions brought on by visiting inlaws you can barely stand and family arguments that never seem to end remember one little thing.

Remember to give thanks to that soldier sitting in a foxhole in the unforgiving desert of Iraq. Remember he is there to insure that we can sit around our dining room tables and "debate" with idiot relatives.

Remember to give thanks to that unlucky policeman patroling the mean streets of your town and mine. He is there tying to make sure we have a safe holiday.

Remember to give thanks to that firefighter sitting in the firehouse on this family holiday. He is sacrificing his family holiday just in case he needs to save ours.

Remember to give thanks to that faceless screenname that trys to make you laugh when times are hard and listens to you when you need to cry on someone's shoulder.

BUT ABOVE ALL

Remember to give thanks to the Lord who gave his only begotten son so that we could all have a chance at eternal happiness.

Personal Note: I want to thank a good friend in Florida who gave me permission to post this personal note I wrote for them.
