Just a little sick of the hypocrisy

You know personally I don't care which movies people like and which ones they cant stand. If a person chooses not to like the Harry Potter movies because they disapprove of magic ---- That's ok with me. I don't own stock in the company that makes the movies, publishes the books or produces all of the spinoff toys that the series has generated. I can even to a certain degree understand this purely MORAL stand, I don't agree with it but I can honestly respect a person that chooses to govern what materials their children are exposed too.

What does frustrate me though is the people that vilify Harry Potter. The people that suggest taking your children to see the movie is nothing short of Child Abuse and that everyone that enjoys the series is either a Satan worshiper or soon will be. That is over the top, that is pure nonsense. Normally I just shake my head and ignore this type BS. It takes all kinds and everyone in the United States has the constitutional right to make an idiot of themselves.

On the other hand, when these Exact same people turn around and deify the Chronicles of Narnia it flat out angers me. Both movies series and book series are FANTASY, they are not spiritual guides to base your life on. Neither is evil, neither is Satanic and I might add neither are that well written. (Although I will admit that Narnia is a much better series of books than Harry Potter, because the writer is a much better writer. Stronger plots, better character development and fewer illogical resolutions of situations.) On the other hand Neither is "divinely" inspired either, they are not extensions of Christianity or any other religion including the poor deluded Wickens.

If you want divine inspiration I would suggest you try the Holy Bible. If you want a spiritual guide to live your life by, again try the Holy Bible. If on the other hand you want to read a kid's book that includes magic try Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Young Wizard series by Diane Duane, Conan the Barbarrian or the Lord of the Rings. IF you choose to base your life on the "Teachings" of one of these fictional series of books, please let me suggest Conan. At least that way you will have a short life and get out of the way of the rest of us.

If this strikes you as a bit of over reaction, your correct. Hypocricy always rubs me the wrong way.
