Shamefull
Occasionally we run across a situation thats so offensive that we forget to be civilized and polite. In my case it is usually the behaviour of a liberal democrat that sets me off, or the actions of some spineless Republican that drives me to anger.
For the last few years when someone starting insulting the "Younger Generation", I would point to the enlistment rate after 9/11 with pride and tell them that the kids get it. They are stepping forward and defending our nation, they understand that freedom is not free even if Senator Kennedy does not.
This week alot of that goodwill has evaporated in the fire that is "Immigration Reform" Students have been walking out of class to protest the "Immigration Reform" bill currently in the House of Representatives. This bill would strengthen the laws that are currently being ignored by the illegal immigrants, ignored by the business's that hire them, ignored by the INS and ignored by our President. The Mainstream Media has bent over backwards to frame this discussion as an attack on all immigration, even to the point of calling these people who break our law "Undocumented Workers". They are NOT undocumented workers they are criminals that have illegally entered our country. We dont know who they are, we dont know if they come here to work or if they come here to strap bombs on themselves and blow up the malls. I realize that is farfetched but lets face reality, we do NOT know their intentions because our borders are wide open.
It frustrates me to see our young people taking to the streets to support criminals. It frustrates me to see our young people wrapping themselves in the flag of a foreign country while protesting the actions of our Congress.
It also frustrates me to see the Schools make excuses for this behaviour. It frustrates me to hear a superintendent say that we should use this as a chance to teach a civics lesson. The proper response would be to suspend the students that are breaking school rules and walking out of their classrooms. The proper response would be to arrest these students for violating the truency laws. The proper response would be to ENFORCE THE DAMN LAW!!!
It frustrates me to see normally rational people stoop to the level of name calling and bigoted remarks about the illegal aliens simply because they are angry about the Governments inaction. I am opposed to Illegal immigration, personally I think ever one of them should be rounded up and deported to what every country they came from. However, I refuse to degrade myself by using bigoted names to describe these criminals. There is no justification for the use of terms like "Wetback", "Greaser", "Beaner" or any of the other names that are being tossed about like a beach ball. The majority of us opposing President Bush's "Guest Worker" program or amnesty are not BIGOTS, we are simply people who want the DAMN LAW ENFORCED!!!
It frustrates me to see the elected "leaders" of this country caving in to the political pressure being brought on them groups that encourage the breaking of American Law. It frustrates me to see a President I voted for turn a blind eye to border security and offer a candy coated Amnesty program to people who have no respect for our laws or traditions. Mr President ENFORCE THE DAMN LAWS!!! Mr Senator and Mr Congressman ENFORCE THE DAMN LAWS!!! Protect our borders, deport every illegal alien and stop worrying more about the political ramifications and start worrying about the security ramifications.
