Tonight is Game Five of the New Jason Kidd Era here in Dallas. Tonights game is the first really big test. We are playing the World Champion San Antionio Spurs. The Old Mavs (Prior to the Kidd trade) were built specifically to beat the Spurs. The New Mavs are built (in theory) to win the NBA Championship. At the moment the game is in the 4th quarter Mavs 84 Spurs 82.
Three minutes left Mavs 91 Spurs 90. Nothing like a nail biter to keep the old heart pumping.

Even though we lost this was a very good showing for the rebuilt Mavs
OK these comments were added a couple of days after the game. Since my internet connection bailed on me with 34 seconds left in the game I was unaware that Jason Kidd was not on the floor to finish the game. EXCUSE ME? The Mavs went out and got Jason Kidd for just this type of situation. I will not say the Mavs would have won if Kidd had played those last 34 seconds but its for dang sure that you dont pull your Superstar in clutch situations. Idiotic decision by Coach Avery.
