Election Runoff Night

Last Night was election runoff night here in Hunt County. While I was sitting in the Elections Office waiting for the returns to come in I spoke to Brad Keller of the Greenville Herald Banner, a Reporter from the Local Radio Station and the owner of the "Giggles & Grins" newspaper about the Grand Opening of the Hunt County Republican Party Headquarters on April 19th. The Radio Station is going to call me for an interview and both newspapers expressed an intrest in covering the event. Hopefully we can get a bit of news coverage to help kickoff our Fundraiser for the Couty party.

The Results of the Runoff were

County Sheriff:

Randy Meeks 1877
Richard Hill 1614

County Commissioner Precinct 1

Mike Pierce 503
Chris Bracken 485

I noticed one "odd" Fact about the voting in this election. Randy and Richard received the EXACT same number of votes (1047) votes today, the difference in their race was the early voting.

Come November

Randy will face off against Dewey Watson for Sheriff and Mike will face the Current County Commissioner of Precinct 1 Kenneth Thornton. I suspect the Pierce-Thornton race will be very close.
