WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Americans have a constitutional right to keep guns in their homes for self-defense, the justices' first major pronouncement on gun control in U.S. history.
The court's 5-4 ruling struck down the District of Columbia's 32-year-old ban on handguns as incompatible with gun rights under the Second Amendment. The decision went further than even the Bush administration wanted, but probably leaves most federal firearms restrictions intact.

Owners Comments: Can you spell RELIEF? The Supreme Court of the United States actually consulted the Constitution on one of its rulings. After the idiotic ruling in the Child-Rape case and the Gitmo case I was convinced that the SCOTUS had forgotten that the Constitution existed.

DC is doing all they can to keep their citizens disarmed.
There are no gun dealers in DC and they are making it extremely tough for one to open.
If the Mayor has his way, there will never be a gun dealer.
For now the ruling is useless.
