On The Home Front: Let's Get Serious

I want you to close your eyes and imagine something. I want you to picture in your mind, the City of Dallas, add the suburbs of Mesquite and Plano. That is approximately 1.4 million people. Now I want you to imagine all those people sneaking across the border into Oklahoma. I want you to imagine the Governor of Oklahoma saying that there is nothing we can do to stem this flow of people and, besides, they only take jobs that "Real Oklahomans" wouldn't take. Absolutely ridiculous, isn't it? That Governor would be laughed out of office.

Who in the world would accept an elected official who is saying that they could not stem the flow of 1.4 million people a year? The answer to that inane question is YOU and ME. Conservative estimates put the number of illegal aliens crossing into ONLY Arizona at 4000 a day. That is 1.4 million a year in Arizona alone. Current estim ates are that there are at least 10 million illegal aliens currently living and working in the United States.

The impact of this invasion of ILLEGAL aliens on the economy is staggering. The latest unemployment figures for the United States puts unemployment at around 6%. The population of the United States is about 270 million, that means that approximately 16 million American citizens are currently out of work. If we reduced the number of illegal aliens by Half that could/would result in a reduction of our unemployed citizens by a third. That would be 5 million more of our neighbors, our friends, our CITIZENS who would have jobs, Pay Taxes, support their families and be productive members of our society.

Tax supported public hospitals all along the border from the Gulf of Mexico to San Diego are being overwhelmed by the number of illegal aliens pouring into their emergency rooms for free health-care. The money to pay for this "Free Health-care" is NOT coming from Mexico, It is NOT coming from the Tooth Fairy, It is coming out our pockets, yours and mine.

Tax supported Schools all along the border from the Gulf of Mexico to San Diego are forced by law to admit the children of illegal aliens. This problem is not restricted to border states. Schools all over our nation are admitting the children of these illegal aliens. In the near future, the Texas Congress will finally come up with a solution to Education Funding for Texas. The result will be higher taxes for every single person in Texas, that is every single LEGAL citizen of Texas. We will be footing the bill for educating these children of illegal aliens.

Next time you go to vote, renew your drivers license, register your car, have your car inspected or even change your address take a long look at the form you are given to fill out. You will notice that it is written in at least t wo languages. English and Spanish. The reason for this is simple, Illegal aliens that refuse to learn English. Illegal aliens that refuse to make even the smallest attempt to be part of American Society.

Yet our Government tells us, that there is nothing we can do to stem the tide of this invasion. Make no mistake, it IS an invasion. These people are breaking our law and sneaking into our country.

During the year 2004, a group of Tax Paying, Law Abiding American Citizens took it upon themselves to try and stop this invasion. These patriots, these modern day minutemen were unarmed -- all they did was watch the border. When they spotted people crossing the border illegally they called the border patrol. This experiment in Arizona reduced the illegal border crossings by an estimated 90%.

Yet our Government tells us that there is nothing we can do to stem the tide of this invasion. Our Governor was less than receptive when these Minutemen tried to come to Texas. The Governor of California has been less than receptive to the Minutemen, The Governor of New Mexico has been less than receptive to the Minutemen, The Governor of Arizona has been less than receptive to the Minutemen and The President of the United States labeled them Vigilantes.

It is long past time for our elected "Leaders" to get serious about illegal immigration. It is time for us to get serious and send these "Leaders" a very simple message. PROTECT OUR BORDERS or we will fire you and vote someone into office who will.
