Are we Watching the Fall of the French Republic?

As I write this the 10th night of Islamic inspired rioting has torn the streets of France. Thousands of cars have been torched in this unrest. Schools, shops, gyms and other public buildings have been torched and or attacked. Their have been hundreds of arrest as this insanity continues to spread. The "rioting" is not just in the suburbs of Paris but has spread to every major French city from the Mediterean Sea to the German border. In the town of Evreux, 60 miles west of Paris, 50 cars, a shopping center, two schools, and a Post Office were put to the Torch. 5 Cops and 3 Firefighters were injured fighting the fires.

This civil unrest also visited Nice, Cannes, Acheres, Avignon, Nantes and Strasbourg. In Meaux these Islamic rioters prevented paramedics from evacuating a sick person from a Housing Project. Pelting the paramedics with rocks and torching the ambulance.

Saturday night according to French officials over 1300 cars were torched, for the first time the rioting spread to the heart of Paris. The French Govt's response? They send in helicopters to film the rioters so they can identify them and arrest them. They Talk with the Islamic leaders of this chronically underemployed segment of "French" society. Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy was forced to resign because he called the rioters Scum.

Are we watching the Fall of the French Republic? Possible but not very probable UNLESS the French Government continues to treat this unrest as a mere Police problem. The rioters are adopting slogans like "Now This is War" and "Jihad", these are not merely unhappy kids out on a lark. So far nobody has died in this insanity but how long can that continue. These rioters have attacked Police, Firemen and even paramedics. According to reports they are coordinating their attacks using cell phones and the internet. Text messages fly between groups of rioters in Paris and Nice. It is obvious that this is an orginized coordinated attack by Islamic fanatics on the very fabric of French society. It is equally obvious that if the French Govt does not take SERIOUS action soon that it will continue to grow and eventually bring down the Republic.

Like many Americans I cant help but wonder why I should care. I cant help but think, at least at first, that the French deserve this because of their policy of appeasement to Islamic fanatics. The prospect of an Islamic dominated Franch armed with Nukes and other modern weapons is why we as Americans should care. What can we do about it, I honestly dont know. The French Govt seems completely unwilling to call out the military to quell this unrest and we are not in a position to send in troops. All we can do is sit and watch as this unrest continues and hope that eventually the French military will put a stop to it.
