Illegal alien denied bond reduction

A Dallas man will remain in local custody for now, after a state district judge Thursday refused to lower his bond for allegedly transporting a large amount of marijuana through Hunt County.

Juan Carlos Padilla is also alleged to be living in the United States illegally.Padilla, 28, was arrested by an officer with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) late on the night of Jan. 28 after the officer reportedly clocked Padilla driving at five miles above the posted speed limit.
