Day 70 --- Still Not Smoking! I will not say that I am not having cravings but I am beating them (Knock on wood) so far. I honestly think if I can remain smoke-free after a terrible week like last week then I can do this. On a personal note I would like to ask everyone to pray for my "Yankee Editor" her husband is gravely ill and was placed in Hospice care this weekend. I have never had the honor of meeting "Mr Ben" face to face but I have traded jokes and tease's with him for years. Spoke to him on the phone once or twice and always valued his opionon on my writing. I may not know him very well but "Mr Ben" is a person we can all respect.
The Mavs just keep lighting it up. 51 wins and 9 loses. The little General Avery Johnson has them on a mission to win the ring that we choked away last year. Go Mavs Go!Spring Training has begun and my beloved Texas Rangers still have a mathamatical chance at this point in the season to make a run for the World 
Series. Forgive me, if I seem less than optimistic. The Rangers historically are eliminated from the playoff run very early. For years we have had a terrible team and the owner seems to like it that way. As long as the seats in the Ballpark are filled he is happy, winning does not seem to be one of his goals. The Experts are saying that this is the best Rangers team we have had in years, I hope so.

In Hockey 16 of the 30 teams make the playoffs --- Only the 14 worst teams in the league dont make the playoffs.

I still dont know if Wade (Son of Bum) Phillips is going to be the next Great Cowboy Coach but it was pretty darn obvious that Bill Parcells was not. I also have to admit that I usually pull for Duke because our local high school team are also called the Blue Devils.
