Day 85

Day 85

For those of yall keeping count today is day 85 since I quit smoking to protest Govenor Rick "Rino" Perry's Illegal Alien Education Tax. Govenor you have gotten NO CIGARRETTE TAXES from me to educate the people you should be deporting. Yes, I am fully aware of the fact that the small pittance ($170 bucks based on two packs a day for 85 days) that you have not gotten will never be noticed. It's a matter of principle and convictions. Just like you will never have my support or vote in the future, because I refuse to support a man who does not have the courage of his convictions or the "Guts" to stand on his principles.

On a lighter note it is now day 7 since my grandson was born. I am still thrilled to death just wish I got to see the little bratkin more often. Now It may just be me but I swear he is the smartest little 7 day old kid in the world. (GRIN).

My Beloved Mavericks are now 58 and 11. They have clinched a playoff birth and are riding yet another win streak. This streak is at six, the Mavs have a shot at becoming the first team in NBA history to have four (4) winning streaks of ten (10) games or more in a single season. The Key game will be on April 1st (Figures) against the Hated Phoenix Suns (Figures). Go Mavs!!!!!!!!

On a barely related subject, Mark Cuban the outstanding owner of the Dallas Mavericks has made a business decision with his video company that I find reprehensible. Mr Cuban's Magnolia pictures has agreed to distribute the "documentry" "Loose Change". I don't believe in Censorship, unless a film involves sex with children or farm animals I believe it has a right to be seen by anyone that wants to see it. However, I believe responsible business owner should distance himself with any type of association with this lying piece of filth. Mark you are my favorite Local Sports Team owner, but you are really blowing it on this.

My Cowboys drafted a free agent Ken Hamlin, Safety. I honestly dont know squat about him, I hope him is the answer we need in the secondary. We keep hear rumours about Julius Jones being on the Trading block, if he is we had better get something real good for him.

Meanwhile, over in Ranger Camp. Things are still looking fairly optimistic. The season has not started yet, which is probably why I am still feeling upbeat. I dont mean to sound like a cynic but the facts are facts. The Texas Rangers have never gone to the World Series, have never played in a league Championship game and have only won ONE playoff game in their history. I seriously doubt that will change as long as they are owned by Tom Hicks.

The Stars have bounced back from their late season morass and all but clinched a playoff spot. I look for them to lose out in the first round yet again. If you want an explanation of why, see above comments. Tom Hicks owns the Stars too.
On the other hand Mike Modano just became the leading American scorer of all time. Way to go Mike!!!!

So far the campaign for the Celeste City Council has not really kicked off. I plan on getting to work on it in the next few days. Between the Grandson being born I been extremely busy.
