Day 91

Day 91 --- Still Not Smoking. Today is the start of the 4th month or to be a bit more honest it is the end of the third month. I would never have thought I could make it this long, but so far so good.

Yesterday was the Celeste Lions Club Pancake supper. We had 132 folks show up and eat, talk and renew their ties in the community. We may not have made as much money as the stew supper produces but I think the community interaction is better at the Pancake suppers. I dont remember if I mentioned it already but I was elected President of the Celeste Lions Club at our last meeting, so I guess for at least the next two years more Lions Club stuff will be showing up on this blog because I tend to write about what I am involved in.

I attended the Rains County Republican Party Organizational Meeting last Thursday in order to invite them to the Hunt County GOP Club Picnic. Things are starting to look real good for this year's Picnic. So far I have gone and talked to Kaufman, Rains and Rockwall Counties about being part of the Event. During April I will be talking to Garland and Van Zandt Counties about taking part. I am also trying to schedule a meeting with several other groups.

My Grandson got to spend the night with us Friday and Saturday nights, a real pleasure to be sure. My mother was also over visiting so she got to see the baby for the first time Friday night. We had four generations of the family in the house at one time.

My beloved Mavericks are 61 and 11 now riding a 9 game winning streak. Today they play for their 10th straight win. If they can beat the hated Phoenix Suns then the Mavericks will become the first team in NBA history to post 4 10+ game winning streaks in a single year. 70 wins this season is looking very possible but the goal is an NBA Championship and nothing less will do.

Spring Training is over. It's time for another season of Major Leasue Baseball. The Rangers first game is Tommorrow against the Angels with the confusing name (they cant make up their mind where they live). Ok their opponent is the Los Angelos Angels of Anaheim. The Rangers Home Opener is Friday against the Boston Red Sox.
