He Just Doesn't Get It

A WALL CRITIC

Gov. Rick Perry speaking in Mexico City on August 28th criticized the proposed border wall between the United States and Mexico. Mr. Perry was leading a trade mission of more than 150 Texas business leaders and state officials focused on developing partnerships in the energy sector. Perry told reporters that the border barrier—approved by Congress last fall and signed into law by President Bush last October—sends a “bad message” and it “absolutely will not work.” Mr. Perry made the remarks before he was to meet with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, also an outspoken critic of the planned 700-mile wall between Brownsville, TX, and the Pacific Ocean.

Govenor Perry just does not seem to understand that the average Texan does not care if we upset the average Mexican. What we want, What we DEMAND is that our government protect our borders. It is not a "Bad Message" to enforce AMERICAN law, on the other hand it is a bad message to throw open the doors and allow anyone to enter our country. We need to secure our borders, we need to deport every single illegal and we need to make sure that we know who is crossing our borders.

Forget the drugs, forget the economic damage being done to our schools, forget the fact that our emergency rooms are being overwhelmed by this onslaught of unpaying illegal aliens. In stead focus on the fact that Terrorists can cross our open borders and make the horror of 9/11 look like a stroll in the park. Should we wait until one of our American cities are destroyed by a terrorist that crossed our unsecured borders before we actually do anything to protect ourselfs? How many Americans need to die needlessly before politicians like Govenor Rick Perry stop thinking about hispanic votes and start thinking about doing their jobs?
