Just another day in Paradise

Today was just another day in Paradise. I swear I am getting too old for this daily grind of reading meters. Monday was Sanger Mobile Home Park which dang near kills me every month. 195 water meters with the full metal lids plus dogs galore. I get home with aching legs, hurting knees and both shoulders on fire. This month I had the added joy of a dog tearing up one of my arms. Nothing serious but hurts like hades and bleed like a stuck pig.

Today was Solarni and Eastfield plaza almost 600 meters that I start the day with. Of course it was foggy here, cold and damp. Then I start the trek across Dallas reading shopping centers in South Dallas, Mid Dallas, North Dallas and Far North Plano. Finally finished a few minutes after 4 PM and then I hear on the radio that Central Expressway (Southbound) is closed due to an accident. It's either sit in trafffic for two plus hours to get back to the office or drive the 45 minutes to my house. Wanna guess which I did?

Anyway enough whinning. I will try to be a bit better about posting my thoughts to this blog, only excuse I can give you is that I been busier than a one legged grasshopper. I will try to run through a few quick thoughts.

Sports:

My beloved Cowboys are 5 -1. Got their butts kicked by the Patriots but then who hasn't this year. Overall the Cowboys are playing a lot better than I expected and it looks like it will be an exciting season. Speaking of the Cowboys, former Cowboy great Ron Springs is in the Hospital in a coma. I would ask that you add him to your prayer list.

I Heard a rumour on the radio (AM1310 the Ticket) this afternoon that my beloved Mavericks are considering trading for Colby "The Rapist" Bryant. In spite of the fact that he would be a huge boost to the Mavericks I sincerly hope that no deal gets put together. I would rather the Mavs continue to battle it out as a Almost Great Team with decent folks (Not perfect but decent) than win a World Championship employing scumbags.

Hockey season has started (I Think). Not really a fan of the game but I hope the Dallas Stars do well. College Football season has been a major disappointment for me this year. TCU and the Aggies are both already knocked out of serious competition for the National Championship or even their Conference Championships.

TV

We are really enjoying the new Show "Chuck" and so far Heroes continues to entertain. So far this season Boston Legal has really been terrible, the same could be said for Two and a Half Men and My Name is Earl. Numbers has been decent but not great. The Season finale of Dr Who was outstanding, can hardly wait for next season.

Politcs

Al Gore won the Noble "Peace" Prize for his outspoken opposition to Global Warming. Could someone please explain to me what the hades that has to do with "Peace"? Democrat Congressional Aides were required to get innoculations before traveling to the untamed backwoods region of the Earth known as Alabama. They were traveling to a NASCAR event, Why do I get the feeling that the Democrat Leaders have a rather low opion of us Southern Folks?

I made up my mind and formally announced at the last Hunt County GOP Club that I would not seek a second term as President. Instead, I was going to run for County Chairman of the Hunt County Republican Party. I honestly feel that I can do more to promote conservative values in that position.
