Just How Important is the Color of the Jersey?

Earlier today I heard on the radio (AM 1310 the Ticket) that the Texas Rangers are considering changing the color of the uniforms back to Red. The Rangers wore red during the mid to late 1990's. The Only other thing to stand out about that period in Ranger History is that the Were Division Champions Twice. The only time in the history of the franchise that they actually went to the playoffs.

Will changing the color of the Uniforms change the longstanding losing mentality that plagues the Texas Rangers? I seriously doubt it! If Tom Hicks (The Owner) really wanted to improve the Rangers (on the field, not in the bank book) He would SELL the Team! Then maybe we could get a owner that actually gave a damn if the team was good or not.

Instead of hiring worn out RETIRED pitchers to be Team President, he would open his wallet and sign some people to throw the ball that actually are still in their prime. Some hitters and outfielders that are not trying to "Rehab" their reputation by playing for cheap just to get back or stay in the league.

The bottom line is that as long as Tom Hicks owns my beloved Rangers the only color that will matter is green. Hicks will not spend any! I suspect the reason they are considering changing the color of the Uniform is to increase sales of hats and jerseys.
